Reynolds developed a process for mandrel-butting magnesium tubing and worked with a specialist Mg extruder on custom projects. These have included a “Designer Select” set which combines butted Mg tubes for the main triangle and carbon rear stays, bonded into Aluminium lugs.
Magnesium alloys have good vibration damping characteristics due to the low stiffness modulus and require specific anti-corrosion treatment if exposed to damp conditions.
