Jonathan Buckley reaps the benefits of vintage 531.
‘The bike was rescued from a pensioners spare room and rebuilt for me by my dad (I’m 16). It’s been up and down some great hills in its time but is now my bike of choice when in France. It only has 5 gears but out-accelerates and out-climbs many new bikes. Although some components had to be changed, it sports the original red paintwork with lugs highlighted in gold. We have covered 500 miles or more this summer and despite 2 broken spokes on the original 27×11/8 wheels, it eats up the miles and rides as smooth as when it left the Dawes factory in Birmingham’.
If you're a Reynolds steel frame rider or have any Reynolds archive / memorabilia shots send them to us and we'll post them. Save your pictures in .jpg format with a maximum file size of 3MB please.
